4 Year Old VPK Enrollment

Florida's Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program is a free educational program designed to prepare four-year-olds for kindergarten. It's a state-funded initiative that aims to give children a head start by developing their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. The program is available to all children who are residents of Florida and turn four years old by September 1 of the school year.

To enroll your child in Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program through the Early Learning Family Portal, follow these steps:
Step 1 - Confirm Eligibility
Your child must reside in Florida and be 4 years old on or before September 1 of the current school year. If your child’s fourth birthday falls between February 2 and September 1, you may choose to enroll them that year or the following year when they are 5.
Step 2 - Gather Required Documents:
  • Proof of Child’s Age: Acceptable documents include an original or certified copy of the child’s birth certificate, passport, or immunization record signed by a physician.
  • Proof of Florida Residency: This can be a utility bill, driver’s license, or pay stub with your current address.
